On this 4-day Wellness Retreat you will unwind, and have space from your daily pressures to top up your reserves and to feel more physical vitality and mental peace.

Suitable for beginners. No yoga experience required.

Yoga helps restore balance in our body and mind. When life gets challenging, or we have a fearful situation in front of us, we get out of balance and we experience stress. The experience of stress affects our breath, our immune system, and our general state of health

Its important that we know how to bring ourselves back to a place of balance and vitality. People find the poses in yoga help shift the energy in the body to feel more overall vitality and energy for daily life.

This unique retreat will combine both body and mind practices to help you boost your health and general feelings of positivity. We will get out of our head and into your body utilising the combination of ancient yoga wisdom and wellbeing science techniques to help you release tension and grow your inner strengths.

10am-10.30am Morning tea
10.30am-11.30am Wisdom talks
11.30am-12.30pm Mini workout, Yoga
12.30am-1.30pm Lunch
1.30pm-2.30pm Wisdom talks
2.30pm-3pm Afternoon tea
3pm-4pm Yin relaxation

Saturday afternoon, evening optional activities: Thermal hot pools and spa, walk up Conical hill, Group dinner

Sunday 7th August

9.30am-9.45am Refreshments
10am - 10.30am Wisdom talks
10.30am -11.30am Yin relaxation and Closing Meditation

what to bring?

  • Yoga mat, pillow, blanket

  • Togs, towel

  • Wear something comfortable, we will do some yoga

  • Please turn off mobile phones and remove shoes at the door of the venue

  • Yoga mats are provided, but feel free to bring your own

Your teacher

Jo Jarden is a personal trainer, yoga teacher and the founder of Heart and Mind Yoga studio in Central Christchurch. With 10 years experience in health promotion, she now helps people find physical vitality, mental peace and how to live with purpose.

Qualifications include:

Certified Yoga Teacher Santosha Yoga Institute, Registered Australian Yoga Alliance 2017
Certificate in Advanced Personal Training, Fit College New Zealand, 2016
