On this One-day Yoga Retreat you will have space from your daily pressures to to reconnect, restore and rejuvenate your body, mind and spirit - a time to turn inwards, and nourish yourself.

Have you wanted to go on a wellness retreat but found it hard to find the time or money? That’s one of the main reasons I’ve created this One-day Urban Retreat. You get the benefits of time away, a moment to yourself, and that feeling of rejuvenation without too much time off work or spending a load of money.

Yoga helps restore balance in our body and mind. When life gets challenging, or we have a fearful situation in front of us, we get out of balance and we experience stress. The experience of stress affects our breath, our immune system, and our general state of health

Its important that we know how to bring ourselves back to a place of balance and vitality. People find the poses in yoga help shift the energy in the body to feel more overall vitality and energy for daily life.

This unique retreat will combine both body and mind practices to help you boost your health and general feelings of positivity. We will get out of our head and into your body utilising the combination of ancient yoga wisdom and wellbeing science techniques will help you release tension and grow your inner strengths.

Yoga Chakra medititations are about re-balancing and cleansing our energy system in our mind and body. Meditating through all the chakras helps bring the entire chakra system into parasympathetic balance. Each of the seven chakras, aligned invisibly up and down the spinal column, stand for an important aspect of being in balance. Over time you'll be able to sense which chakras are blocked or out of balance.

Our studio has a special relaxing effect with candlelit ambience and the comfort of pure beautiful NZ wool carpet mats. Located in central Christchurch on Bealey Ave Carlton Corner its easy to get to no matter where you are coming from.

On arrival to your retreat you will recieve the following added comforts for use during the day:

  • A luxurious eye pillow - to block out the light and to provide a gentle weight to promote a deep sense of relaxation

  • Pure wool hand made bolster - to support the natural curvature of your body in the poses

  • Woollen yoga blanket - for added warmth and for support in your poses

  • Yin relaxation - a meditative style of yoga

  • Yoga and breathing practices for finding inner calm

Your teacher

Jo Jarden is a personal trainer, yoga teacher and the founder of Heart and Mind Yoga studio in Central Christchurch. With 10 years experience in health promotion, she now helps people find physical vitality, mental peace and how to live with purpose.

Qualifications include:
